Discover The Little Chihuahua

The Little Chihuahua is a delightful gem nestled in the heart of San Francisco, offering a vibrant dining experience with a focus on fresh, flavorful Mexican cuisine. Located at 4123 24th St, San Francisco, CA 94114, it has quickly become a local favorite for both casual meals and special occasions. Whether you're craving a quick bite or planning a relaxed dinner with friends, this spot delivers with style and authenticity.

From the moment you step inside, The Little Chihuahua sets itself apart with its inviting atmosphere. The decor blends modern touches with traditional Mexican influences, creating a cozy yet energetic vibe that reflects the vibrant flavors on the menu. It’s clear that the owners have poured their heart into crafting an experience that goes beyond just the food.

The menu is a testament to classic Mexican dishes with a creative twist. Tacos are, of course, the star of the show. The Little Chihuahua’s taco selection ranges from the familiar to the adventurous. The carnitas, slow-cooked and perfectly seasoned, melt in your mouth. For those with a bolder palate, the pescado taco, filled with crispy fish and zesty slaw, offers a fresh, tangy bite that’s hard to beat. But it doesn’t stop there-there’s also a delightful array of salsas that add a perfect kick to each dish, from smoky chipotle to bright, tangy verde.

One standout on the menu is their burrito, packed with flavorful fillings and wrapped tightly for easy enjoyment. The combination of tender meats, fresh veggies, and savory rice and beans makes it a satisfying meal that’s guaranteed to leave you feeling full and happy. Vegetarians are well taken care of here, too, with options like the roasted veggie burrito and the black bean taco that show off the diversity of flavors and textures that Mexican cuisine has to offer.

Beyond tacos and burritos, The Little Chihuahua also serves up a variety of flavorful side dishes that complement the main menu. The Mexican street corn, or “Elote,” is a crowd favorite, with its perfect balance of smoky, creamy, and slightly spicy flavors. It’s the kind of dish you could easily eat on its own, but it pairs wonderfully with any of the main plates.

Drinks at The Little Chihuahua are just as thoughtfully crafted as the food. You can’t go wrong with one of their margaritas, made with fresh ingredients and a perfect balance of sweetness and tartness. The aguas frescas are a refreshing, non-alcoholic option, with flavors like hibiscus and pineapple that offer a burst of natural sweetness.

What sets The Little Chihuahua apart from other Mexican spots in the city is not just the food, but the warmth of the service. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to make your experience memorable. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a regular, they go out of their way to make you feel like part of the family.

As with any restaurant, it’s important to consider the overall experience, and The Little Chihuahua does not disappoint. • Really loved this fast casual place. I tried the fried plantain and recommend it! The plantains were perfect! I also tried the grilled veggies and soyrizo bowl - it was pretty yummy too! My partner had their pollo asado bowl and liked it - but seemed to like my bowl better. If you’re the neighborhood, looking for a casual spot for mexican - stop by here!

  • Big fan of this restaurant! Very friendly staff who have great recos, relaxed vibes and absolutely tasty food! We tried the fried plantain & black beans burrito, the salmon tacos and the chicken tacos. Each taco comes with 2 tortillas and there's enough filling to make two tacos for yourself! Portion sizes are huge and you can have a filling meal within $12-15 per person. The sauces and pico de gallo are free flow - my absolute favorites were the tomatillo and salsa verde sauces! Im getting hungry for more just writing this review.

  • San Francisco offers too many sandwich shops so this was a nice stumble. The plantains were fantastic. And I’m a big sucker for rice. Good rice. Will come back next time I visit

  • I have been coming here for about 8 years. Their food is always good and eat here at least a couple times a month. However, the chips are a gamble every time. It’s always been like that. Sometimes they forget to salt them, while other times they are a completely different tasting chip. Recently the chips have been stale and don’t know how they could get more inconsistent. I’d rather buy my own chips just to be safe.

  • The food is fairly tasty, but nothing really outstanding. You get a lot of food for the money, but that’s about it really. The service was solid and the atmosphere is alright. Stop in if you want a TON of food and aren’t super picky about quality. Throughly okay.
